Check in 10 seconds

2

Or check in Settings

iOS: Settings β†’ General β†’ About β†’ look for the EID field. Android: Settings β†’ About Phone β†’ Status information (or SIM status) β†’ look for EID.
3

Confirm your phone is carrier-unlocked

eSIM hardware isn’t enough β€” the phone must also be carrier-unlocked. See Carrier lock check below.

Compatibility list

Regional exceptions

Some models sold in certain regions ship without eSIM even though the global model supports it:
  • Apple: no eSIM on devices from Mainland China. Devices from Hong Kong & Macao have no eSIM except iPhone 13 mini, 12 mini, SE 2020, and XS.
  • Samsung: no eSIM on devices from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; no eSIM on FE models except S23 FE / S24 FE; no eSIM on USA models of S20, S21, and Note 20 Ultra. In South Korea, only S24, S23, Z Fold 5/4, Z Flip 5/4, and A54 5G support eSIM.
  • Google: no eSIM on Pixel 3 from Australia, Taiwan, Japan, or US/CA carrier models (except Sprint & Google Fi); no eSIM on Pixel 3a from Southeast Asia or Verizon.
  • Oppo / Realme: eSIM is mainly supported on Japanese and specific international models.
  • Sony: Xperia 10 IV supports eSIM in Europe only.

Carrier lock check

Even with eSIM hardware, a carrier-locked phone can’t install international eSIMs.
  • iOS: Settings β†’ General β†’ About β†’ Carrier Lock. It must say No SIM restrictions.
  • Android: Settings β†’ Connections β†’ Mobile networks β†’ Network operators β†’ turn off β€œSelect automatically”. If other networks appear and can be selected, the phone is likely unlocked.
If your phone is locked, contact the carrier you bought it from to unlock it.
