# Getting Started with QR Pay

> Set up QR Pay in four steps: create your Fizen wallet, get USDT on Solana or BNB Chain, deposit into QR Pay, then scan and pay.

QR Pay turns the USDT in your Fizen wallet into everyday spending at shops, cafes and markets that accept local QR codes.

## What you need

* The **Fizen Super App** on your phone
* A **Fizen wallet**, created or imported in the app
* **USDT on Solana or BNB Chain** in that wallet
* A few minutes for **identity verification**

> **[Get the Fizen Super App](https://fizen.io/app?ref=c12M\&accessCode=fizen\&utm_source=web\&utm_medium=fizen\&utm_campaign=app_download\&utm_content=docs_qr_pay\&aid=6adeccbc730938bc9eb41e0b)**
>
> Download the app and open QR Pay from the home screen

***

## The four steps

**1. Create or import your Fizen wallet**

Create a new wallet in the app, or import an existing one with your seed phrase. The wallet is self custody, so write the seed phrase down and keep it offline. See [Set Up Wallet](https://docs.fizen.io/help-center/fizen-app/wallet-and-account/set-up-wallet.md).

**2. Get USDT on Solana or BNB Chain into the wallet**

Tap **Receive**, choose **USDT** and the **Solana** or **BNB Chain** network, then send USDT to that address. If your USDT sits on another network, move it across with **Swap & Bridge** in the app first.

Depositing on **Solana** needs a little **SOL** in your wallet for gas. On **BNB Chain** the deposit costs no gas fee.

**3. Deposit from your wallet into QR Pay**

Open **QR Pay**, complete identity verification, then tap **Deposit** and enter the amount. Details in [Deposit into QR Pay](https://docs.fizen.io/help-center/fizen-qr-pay/deposit.md).

**4. Scan and pay**

Tap **Scan**, point the camera at the merchant's QR code, check the merchant name and the amount in local currency, then swipe to confirm. Details in [Scan and Pay](https://docs.fizen.io/help-center/fizen-qr-pay/scan-and-pay.md).

## Where QR Pay works, and for whom

| Country | Who can use it | QR codes accepted |
| - | - | - |
| Vietnam | Visitors and foreigners in Vietnam | VietQR bank codes, VNPay, MoMo, ZaloPay |
| Philippines | Visitors and foreigners in the Philippines | QR Ph |
| Latin America | Coming next, open to everyone including residents | Announced at launch |

> [!NOTE]
>
> QR Pay is for cross border use, so you cannot pay merchants in your home country. Your home country comes from your identity verification. This means residents of Vietnam cannot use QR Pay inside Vietnam, and residents of the Philippines cannot use it inside the Philippines, while both can use it when they travel elsewhere.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The Fizen wallet is self custody. QR Pay works differently: USDT you move into QR Pay is governed by the [Fizen QR Pay Terms](https://docs.fizen.io/fizen-qr-pay.md), so only move in what you plan to spend.
